Coast to coast by bike – with some big hills in between

Hello, my name is David Stamp and I’ve recently cycled across England from the Irish Sea to the North Sea, a three-day journey of 140 miles. The coast-to-coast adventure was a retirement project, but people also generously sponsored me to slog up the steep climbs of the Lake District and North Pennines. And what a response there has been! The total raised is now more than £2,600, showing just how much people appreciate the fabulous work that Love Me Love My Mind does.

It’s not too late to bump that figure up a little more – every contribution, however small, will make a difference. Just click on this link if you would like to join the almost 100 other sponsors:

Here are some photos of my journey from Whitehaven to Tynemouth (where I went to school half a century ago!). Although the climbs were hard work, the weather was perfect, the scenery glorious and the nature fascinating. A baby seal saw me off in Cumbria, swallows escorted me much of the way, and the skylarks and curlews were in good song on the high hills.

Now it’s time to plan the next bike ride…
